Player Guide

This guide covers everything a player needs to know about using ARS Hud V3, including HUD controls, vehicle features, the nitro system, chat channels, and the settings menu.

  1. HUD Overview
  2. Keybinds
  3. Vehicle Controls
  4. Nitro System
  5. Chat System
  6. Settings Menu
  7. Crosshair and Hitmarker
  8. Cinematic Mode

ARS Hud V3 replaces the default GTA HUD with a modern interface. When you join a server, you will see:

  • Status bars — health, armor, hunger, thirst, stamina, oxygen, stress, and voice range
  • Minimap — rectangle or circle style with optional compass and street names
  • Vehicle HUD — speed, fuel, RPM, gear, engine health, doors, lights, and indicators
  • Player info — cash, bank, job, weapon, server name, and player count
  • Key hints — common server shortcuts displayed at the bottom of the screen
  • Navigation widget — waypoint and destination info

Your HUD settings are saved locally in your browser and persist across sessions.

Key Action
I Open HUD settings
B Toggle seatbelt
G Toggle vehicle engine
Left Shift Nitro boost (hold)
Left Alt Nitro purge (hold)
T Open chat (default)

Tip: Keybinds are configurable by the server owner in config.lua. You can also rebind keys through the FiveM settings menu under “Key Bindings”.

When you enter a vehicle, the HUD displays vehicle information and provides controls through the settings panel.

Element Description
Speed Current speed in km/h or MPH
Fuel Fuel level and type (gasoline or electric)
RPM Engine RPM
Gear Current gear (auto or manual)
Engine Health Engine condition bar
Doors Open/closed status for all doors
Lights Headlights, high beams, and indicators

Open the HUD settings (I) and navigate to the Car Control tab to:

  • Toggle engine on/off
  • Open/close individual doors
  • Toggle headlights and high beams
  • Switch between seat positions

Press B to toggle your seatbelt. Without a seatbelt:

  • You may be ejected from the vehicle at high speeds during a collision
  • A periodic warning reminder will appear
  • A warning chime will play while driving

Note: The seatbelt system does not work on motorcycles, bicycles, or boats.

If the server has the nitro system enabled, you can use NOS for a temporary speed boost.

  1. Enter a vehicle as the driver
  2. Hold Left Shift to activate boost (drains NOS)
  3. Release Left Shift to stop boosting
  4. Hold Left Alt to purge (visual effect, also drains NOS)
  • The vehicle must have a turbo upgrade (slot 18) — check with the server
  • Motorcycles, bicycles, boats, helicopters, planes, and military vehicles are blocked
  • NOS auto-refills while driving above a minimum speed
  • A cooldown applies between boosts
  • Admin command — ask an admin to run /refillnos to instantly fill NOS to 100%
  • Refill item — some servers provide a nos_refill inventory item that restores NOS when used
  • Auto-refill — NOS slowly refills while driving above the configured minimum speed

On servers with persistence enabled, your NOS level is saved per vehicle plate and survives server restarts. Only vehicles with a turbo upgrade will have their NOS saved.

When the server uses the built-in chat (Config.EnableBuiltInChat = true), press T to open the chat window.

Command Channel Range Description

  • Proximity messages (/me, /do, /try) are only visible to players within 20 meters
  • /try randomly succeeds or fails with a 50/50 chance
  • /twt enforces a 140 character limit like real Twitter
  • You can also type / followed by any command registered by other resources
