Officer Guide

This guide covers the day-to-day workflows for police officers using ars_police. It is written for players who have a police or sheriff job on the server.

Approach the clock-in point at your station and interact with the prompt or use the target. You will receive an on-duty notification.

Tip: Some servers require you to be on duty to access the police menu. Check with your server admin.

Visit the locker room at your station to change into your uniform. Uniform options are based on your job grade.

Talk to the armory NPC or interact with the armory point to browse available weapons and equipment. Items are priced and restricted by grade.


Press F6 (or your configured keybind) to open the police job menu. The menu provides quick access to all police functions.

  1. Approach a suspect
  2. Use the /cuff command or select Handcuff from the job menu
  3. The suspect will be restrained with handcuffs (requires handcuffs item)
  4. Use /hardcuff for a stronger restraint

Note: Suspects can attempt to escape cuffs via a skill-check. Zipties are also available as an alternative restraint.

  1. Cuff the suspect first
  2. Use /escort or select Escort from the job menu
  3. Walk while near the suspect to lead them
  4. Use the option to place them in or remove them from a vehicle

Use /carry or /kidnap to pick up an uncuffed player and carry them.

  3. The test will show POSITIVE or NEGATIVE for gunshot residue
  4. Players can wash GSR off by standing in water
  1. Look for evidence markers at crime scenes (casings, blood, projectiles)
  2. Press G near a marker to pick it up
  3. Use the /evidence menu to view collected evidence details

Use /clearcasings or /clearblood as an on-duty officer to clean up crime scene evidence.


  1. Go to the garage zone at your station
  2. Interact with the garage prompt
  3. Select a vehicle based on your grade
  4. The vehicle spawns at a designated spawn point

After spawning a vehicle, approach the extras menu marker to:

  • Toggle vehicle extras (lights, equipment)
  • Select a livery (paint scheme)

  2. Use the Vehicle Interactions option from the job menu
  3. Select Impound to send the vehicle to the depot with a fee

Use the Seize option to permanently hold a vehicle (state = 2 in database).

Use the Lockpick option to force open a locked vehicle.

  2. Use /jail or open the jail dialog from the job menu
  3. Enter the sentence time in months
  4. The suspect is teleported to prison

/jail <id> <months> Send a player to jail
/unjail <id> Release a player from jail
/jailstatus Check a player’s jail status
/jailmenu Open jail management dialog

As an alternative to jail, officers can assign community service:

  • /comserv <id> <tasks> - Assign community service tasks
  • /endcomserv <id> - End community service early

Use the ID Check option to view a player’s name, job, date of birth, and licenses.

  2. Select Grant or Revoke
  3. Choose the player and license type
  1. Use the Fines option from the job menu
  2. Enter the amount (within configured limits)
  3. The fine is processed through the configured billing system
  1. Equip the shield item from your inventory
  2. Hold a pistol to activate the shield
  3. Sprint is disabled while the shield is active
  4. Switching weapons deactivates the shield
  1. Access the spike strip option from the job menu
  2. Select deployment length
  3. Place the spike strip on the road
  4. Pick it up when no longer needed

Deploy scene management props from the job menu:

Props auto-remove after the configured timeout (default: 10 minutes).

Activate GPS tracking to show your location on the map for other officers. Use the GPS option in the job menu to toggle.

Access security cameras from the job menu or at designated camera access points. Browse cameras by label and monitor locations across the city.

  1. Ensure you have a police job assigned
  2. Check that you are on duty if duty requirement is enabled
  3. Verify you have the required items in your inventory
  4. Contact your server admin if features are not working
